Yesterday you set yourself a new goal, goal for a great start in the new year. Have you ever experienced that there was something holding you back? Or have you ever see someone that was talking about his or her goals but there was always something that came in the way. There is something called secondary profit. Secondary profit in our personal lives is the same one as in companies. You could earn money with doing A or with doing B. But you can not make money whit doing both things.
When we set ourself goals we make the decision, however, if we are doing B at this moment and our goal is doing A we would have to say goodbye to B. We need to think what good that we have from current siltation. As if we do not make a rational decision this can influence our motivation further on our path. If the price of letting things go does not stand in face of benefits of our new goal we have to ask ourself if we really wish to achieve this goal.
Basically is the decision of which path you choose is really a price that you pay in life.
Now they’d come so far and they’d waited so long
Just to end up caught in a dream where everything goes wrong
Where the dark of night holds back the light of the day
And you’ve gotta stand and fight for the price you pay
Oh, the price you pay, oh, the price you pay
Now you can’t walk away from the price you pay
You can decide based on a simple pros and cons list. So what is positive and negative of the current situation, and what is positive and negative of everything that you will need to do for accomplishing your goal. And the important question is Are you willing to pay the price for everything that follows your decision. This is not important only for making a decision but a good question on the way when you lose your focus, motivation or goes something wrong. Is a reason in that that there is something holding you back.
